Well, it’s about time I wrote a post, eh? Hanging about on sunloungers on lazy beaches watching the waves come in really takes it out of you 🙂
In the next week I’ll be writing more about Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Ko Rong Saloem. For now, suffice it to say that a LOT has changed in Snooky. PP is much the same as ever, except the Heart of Darkness is now a harmless disco insead of a lawless hangout for underworld characters, ne’er do wells and bored politicians’ sons.
At Snooky, Otres is really the only place that is a chilled backpackers zone. Serendipity and Occheuteal, at least on New Years Eve, were dopppelgangers for Ko Phangan. Sokha and Independence beaches are almost totally privatised for the use of the 5 star hotel guests.
Hawaii and Victory beaches are still good places to watch the sun go down – except there is a dirty great big bridge being built for access to a new casino, which pretty much spoils the skyline.
We’re currently in snooky town, awaiting a bus back to PP and thence onto our flight back to Oz.
