Harajuku on a Sunday afternoon – lolitas, cosplayers, Elvises and me

I’ve been busy hitting the gigs and clubs and will do posts on these soon, but for now, here are some pics from my Sunday Harajuku visit.

Despite being a bit Harjuku’d out, I HAD to go and see the cosplayers on the bridge – and possibly the Elvises? Pity I left it a bit late in the afternoon, but there were still some fun people around. Like this sweet lolita.

Some of them like to put on a small show, strangling the tourists, hehe….
Others rested betweeen photo opportunities
Some westerners had come lolita’d up or in some cosplay costumes (as I did the first time I came, but can’t be bothered now!)
I also saw someone I knew from previous trips – Jim Mcgee, who was handing out flyers for his “Horror High School” series.  Go watch it; it’s funny 🙂
As someone who lives there, he knew the cosplayers and intro’d me round. I spent so much time chatting there, that just as I was leaving to catch the Elvises, they walked past, on their way home! DOH!

And now for a few more lolita types, cos you can never have too many…

She was actually being photographed, so I was cheeky and just piggy backed on there with my camera 🙂

And when it all gets a bit too much, there’s a place you can go…

  1. Ah, you're going to have to become a little less shy…something I've been learning this time round 🙂 Imagine what we would've missed last night, if we didn't go and speak to people!

  2. Awesome! It's a pity you missed the rockabilly guys, they look so cool!
