Agyness Deyn for Barneys Japan. Sex Pot Revenge 2010

From WWD.com comes the news that:

Barneys Japan has teamed up with British model Agyness Deyn to produce a special collection of 11 items including dresses, knits, scarves, t-shirts and leggings, which retail from 18,900 yen, or about $212, to 27,300 yen, or $307.

The initiative is part of Barneys’ environmental campaign Go Green Go and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the planting of trees in inner Mongolia. Deyn’s line will make its retail debut at the opening of Barneys’ new store in Kobe on Friday. It will be sold at Barneys’ Shinjuku location in Tokyo beginning March 13.

I checked out the Barneys Japan website and the label will be called I AM by AGYNESS DEYN for BARNEYS GREEN.

Honestly, the few pics available of the clothing don’t inspire me much.
Maybe if it came in black…
Well, the pants are black, but cropped capri’s with zippered ankles aren’t exactly ground-breaking. March 13th will be my first day shopping in Shinjuku next week, so I’ll go check it out and see if there’s anything of note.

POST EDIT: I did go when I was in Japan, and there was nothing of interest, except a teensy leather jacket that looked like it was for a child.

If I might move on now to a great punk lolita label from japan that I LOVE…
There’s a new Spring & Summer range for 2010, and here are some of my faves, mostly punk-style.
“Burst Rock Pants”
“Born Loose” check pants – ooh, I can see myself buying a pair of these…
Shirts adorned with skulls
Ruffled skirts for over pants, leggings or longer skirts
And there are some gorgeous leggings – like these brand new “Decontrol” leggings -gotta love the skull & crossbones motifs, as well as the little skelly hands!

Or for the younger amongst us, how about these Alice-inspired long socks?
I also love this Pirate skull keychain and Big Skull wallet chain
and they come with different colours for the gems in the skull eyes
Belts in black, natural or red leopard, and snakeskin (all synthetic)
Coloured leopard hats
Even snakeskin bags

There’s a sale on, and I see that my beloved blue leopard pants are amongst the sale items, as well as red ones (front and back view showing here).
There are just so many rad things in the store, and I can’t wait to get back there.
Alternatively, you can buy these things in a few places online, which do ship internationally:
* CD Japan – there’s an online sale now, and brand new items in (some from above)
* Tokyo Rebel – also get new stock in frequently.
These two also stock other gothic lolita brands, including Algonquins, Maxicimam, Atelier Pierrot, Victorian Maiden, Innocent World, Putumayo and more, so are well worth a l
ook, even if you’re not into punk gear. Just set yourself a time limit, or you might be carried away for hours!

Comments

  1. I was quite disappointed with Aggy's stuff as well, it does seem uninspired compared to her usual trademark style!

  2. And I did actually go in Tokyo to see the line – yep, disappointing 🙁
