Nude N’ Rude, premier gothic store in Koenji, turns 1!

Back in April I posted about the fantastic Koenji clothing shop Nude n’ Rude that has an amazing store and sells the best goth, punk and alternative clothing and accessories available to the western world.

We all know the Japanese goth brands like Black Peace Now and Alice Auaa are awesome, but there are Japanese alternatives who wanna wear what alternatives in the rest of the world wear too. Enter – Nude n’ Rude.

Well, Nude n’ Rude had their 1st anniversary party on the weekend – and what a whopper it was!!

Look at all the artists they had performing!
What I would have given to attend that one! So many friends there, so many bands, DJ’s, models and performers.
As to the store itself. Since the last time I wrote the website has been totally revamped and is packed to the gills with the best brands you could want, like Iron Fist, Hell Bunny, Charles of London, Tripp, Sourpuss, Kreepsville 666, Rockin’ Bones, TUK and much, much more.
They have also been producing fantastic Nude n’ Rude webzines with amazing and subversive styling. You just have to see the spreads to believe them.
Check out some of the shots (mostly without the perverse sayings):
Model Leokashi
Model Miwa (or Mivva)
Syrupy Drug (who admittedly are quite Spank! inspired in this shoot)

There’s even a map in issue 4, page 23, where a little animated skeleton walks you from the station to the store!

As for the clothing, here’s a little montage of what you can buy there:

It’s spooky, girly, colourful & dark, all at the same time! I can’t wait to get back there in a few weeks; while I can get a lot of this at home, it’s not all available in the one store.

Anyways, that’s another dose of eyecandy for ya. Are your retinas screaming yet?

Comments

  1. I found this very inspiring! Now I want to go play dress-up. Or better yet, go shopping in Japan. One day hehe.

Thanks for the great post 🙂

  2. Oh, I'm so glad you liked it and are inspired!! They use 80's imagery but make it look bang up to date. Yes, it makes me want to get dressed up too 🙂

Of course, you can get these brands in the US & UK, so you can get your hands on 'em easily.

  3. And Canada too (just saw where you're from!) I tried to comment on your blog and got as far as writing the comment, but the word verification box is obscured so I couldn't. Dunno if it's my browser, but maybe have a look and a tweak 🙂

  4. Omg! I want the blue petticoat! <3

  5. La Char -it is sooo flouncy!!!! I could do with one too 🙂
