“Miss Me” – new store in Omotesando Hills, Japan

It’s about time I introduce the great store I found in my Harajuku wanderings a few weeks back. I had just come out of the Betsey Johnson store and was looking at the maze that is the Omotesando Hills complex…

…when I spotted an amazing looking black store on the level below.
I just had to have a peek.
As I passed the ornate screen, I saw a very swish looking boutique.  I’m a sucker for interesting architecture and high-end shop fitouts.
So glam, and in the middle was a mini rainforest!
I spied some gorgeous headbands with metallic accents

The store manager came out and asked if I spoke English, which made me laugh. He had just come from LA to open the store a few weeks before and was really excited about it.  His next stop after this – London, to open a new store there.
We were soon chatting about the brand, which has been in the US since the first collection in 2001. Beginning life as a jeans label, Miss Me Jeans, it has expanded into Sweet by Miss Me, MM Unplugged, and MM Couture by Miss Me, as well as a girls’ line. The Miss Me brands had always been retailed in others’ stores – this one in Omotesando is the first ever Miss Me store in the world.
As luck would have it, there was an aussie/japanese girl who’d just started working there; it made me feel right at home.
There were quite a few studded things that I was drawn to, like this vest:
There were some great dresses in cobalt blue, and draped garments that were very chic. I really liked these leggings, but already own far too many pairs, so was content to purchase just the crown headband.
And I even got a cute little red bear with a Miss Me bow – daww!!

Miss Me also has a blog and a Facebook page, if you want to keep in touch.
