We all fell in love with Balmain’s exquisite band jacket, heavily embellished with crystals and worn by celebs. But we couldn’t afford the price tag.
I have just now seen a knock-off of the sublime jacket in Bardot (which is an aussie high-street store for those who don’t know). If you’d like to see for yourself, here’s the link to the bejewelled jacket in the online store. It’s $189.95, which is very reasonable when compared with the original.
It looks suspiciously like the Alice + Olivia knock-off from last year, seen below as compared to the original Balmain jacket. Has Bardot used the same manufacturer as A+O and changed the label? Hmm…
The disturbing thing is, in the flesh it’s rather delightful, and I’m actually considering buying it. Would that be a no-no? What do you think? Will it just look ridiculously dated in a year or so? Or will I continue to love it for its fancy detailing?
